Mundial Sound Festival 05'

Mundial Sound Festival 045' took place in the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden, following Swedens's victory at Mundial Sound Festival 04 in Chisinau with the song "Constellation Prize", performed by Robin Bengtsson. This was the first time the contest had taken place in Sweden. The contest consisted of Two Semi-Finals and the Grand Final, with all three live shows hosted by Petra Mede (Eurovision Song Contest Presenter in 2013 and 2016)  and Danny Saucedo, who tried at least 2 times to represente Sweden at Eurovision Song Contest.

Semi-Final Allocation Draw

The draw to determine the allocation of the participating countries into their respective semi-finals took place at Ericsson Globe on 4th June 2016, hosted by Mr. Vasco Cardoso (MBU Executive Supervisor). The first part of the draw was to explain once again the system of Semi-Finals. The second part of the draw decided in which semi-finals each country would perform, with the exact running order determined by the executive supervisor of the show. From each semi-final, eight countries joined the previous TOP10 in the final, where a total of 26 countries participated.

The 30 semi-finalists were allocated into six pots, which were published by the MBU on 2nd Jully, based on Geography Zone. Drawing from different pots helps in reducing the chance of so-called neighbour voting and increasing suspense in the semi-finals. The Automatic Qualifiers, will be divided to vote in both Semi-Finals.
